$8.00 UGGS

If you follow me you know I am a yard sale addict. I've always wanted a pair of UGG boots but refused to pay over $100 for them. I found a pair last weekend at a yard sale for $8.00. SCORE!!!!

Do you love the trick with the pool noodles? You can buy the pool noodles for $1.00 at the dollar tree and cut them with a knife to fit inside your boots to hold them up in your closet! Here's a great tip, buy the noodles now because once it's boot season you won't be able to find them for a $1.00.

Zipper madness

I'm changing it up this year from my usual yard sale hunts. Normally it's furniture and household items I'm searching for but this year I'm searching for fabric, zippers, belts, lace and anything that I can use for my new hobby of refashioning. I scored a bag of zippers for $2.00 from an elderly woman who was thrilled that I was going to put them to good use. There were 12 zippers in that bag, anyone that has bought a zipper lately knows what a deal I found. Using the same concept of cutting up t-shirts to make a cute summer dress here's what my latest refashion looks like.

I cut off the light purple shirt under the arm holes to use for the bottom of the dress.

I kept the dark purple shirt just as it was and added the light purple do the bottom.  I added one of my new zippers to the front.  I just simply attached the zipper to the front keeping it exposed because thats the look I was going for.

Another dress to add to my summer wardrobe for work or out to dinner.

cigar box lamp

I found this cigar box in my stash of wanna-be projects to complete. The lamp I picked up at a yard sale for $.75. After some playing around this is how she turned out.

A little bit of liquid nails and I attached the lamp to the box.  I may add a little something to the shade and the base of the lamp, but for now this is how she looks.  Pretty cool project for a grand total of 75 cents. I will be linking up to:

Modge Podge Side table or Foot stool

I found another table very very cheap at a yardsale this summer. I thought I would redo it for a footstool. When I was shopping at Pat Catans before the Holiday I found some really cool scrapbook paper. The paper reminds me of my passport with stamps from all different countries. Although my passport only has 3 stamps you get the idea.

I used my go-to craft product“MODGE PODGE” on this project. Just added it to the top of the table and the shelf. That’s all I did folks. No sanding or painting. Just good ole Modge Podge. I’m very pleased with the final product. This would be great for a foot stool or a little side table to hold your book or magazine that you are reading.

This is on it’s way to the shop for resale. I won’t feel very bad if it doesn’t sale because it will look great in my porch.

New swag for my mantle

I've been wanting to change my mantle decorations for the last couple years but didn't want to spend a lot of money.  I found this swag for $5.00 this summer at a yard sale.  It was still in the box.

Here she is on my mantle all light up.

I love it.  This is exactly what I have been wanting for this spot but was to cheap to pay the price.  Most yard sale purchases get flipped for my resale shop but every once in a while something gets to stay in my own house.  This one was a "keeper."

Antique clip board

I found this clip board at a yard sale last summer for $2.00.  It's been sitting  in my basement waiting for home.  Well it found a home in my office.  I added a picture collage from our vacation to Mexico.   I have it hanging on the wall above my desk, so when I'm working from home I can dream about our next vacation.

coffee can remake

I found a really cute idea on pinterest to reuse coffee cans.  http://homedesignpins.com/2012/10/12/glue-rope-to-your-used-coffee-cans-cheap-chic-organizing/

Glue rope to your used coffee cans! Cheap, chic organizing.

I hate to throw anything away myself so I decided to give this idea a try.  Here is my version of the coffee can remake.  I started with a empty coffee can, I removed the label.

I hot glued thick white jute rope all the way around the can.

I found an old picture frame that was missing the glass.  I added a piece of burlap to the frame.  I added 2 old buttons tied with a skinny piece of jute.  I glued the frame to the can.

Here's the can holding scented pinecones.

I flipped the can over and added a crystal bowl with glade candle surrounded by coffee beans.  This is the centerpiece on my kitchen Island.

The can is still flipped over, I added a crystal plate, red candle and string of beads for this look.

Here is another option.  On my bedside table along with my favorite candle. Perfect storage for the remote and my kindle.

I like pieces that are versatile because I like to change my decor.  The possibilities are endless for these coffee cans.

chalk paint retro table

I found this cute little round table for $1.00 all it needed was a little love.  I picked up a small container of Annie Sloan chalk paint when I was antiquing with my sisters a few weeks back.  I couldn't decide what color to try.  "Henrietta" won out.  Too funny, that just happens to be my mother's name so I couldn't pass it up.  I needed the perfect table to try it on and this was the one.

"Henrietta" is a very pretty color.  It's a nice combination of pink and purple together.  Here's how she turned out.

I have painted a few piece with homemade chalk paint, but using the real thing was awesome.  I will be buying more Annie Sloan paint for sure.

$1.00 retro table + chalk paint = perfection

Table redo $4.00

This was a yard sale purchase a few weeks ago.  I paid $4.00.

I started out with Miss Mustard Seed "Tricycle" paint

It wasn't what I was looking for so I painted over the entire piece with black.  I distressed it with sandpaper and here is the finished product.  You can see the tricycle color peeking through.

This piece is going to the shop for resale
