Teacher gift

This is my daughter's creation.  I can't take credit for this one.  All I did was take the picture and write the blog post.

She took a hand sanitizers from the dollar store and added a vinyl apple to to the front and then added the teacher's name also in vinyl.  She finished it off with a really cute bow.

What teacher wouldn't like one of these sitting on her desk?

Whatever!

Anyone out there have a teenager that loves to say "Whatever?" Well this is the perfect idea for you.

-All I did was take an old sign that was on clearance at Ollie's for .99.

-I painted over the design on the front of the sign with gray paint.

Then I took out my trusty vinyl letters and added the letters in all different sizes, colors and angles to the board.   To finish it off I took some red tulle and made it into a puff and hot glued it on.

Oak shelf redo

Remember when heart cut outs were all the rage.  Well, my friend gave me this shelf recently and it is beautiful oak but the heart cut out had to go.

I glued a piece of tile to the center of the shelf (bye bye heart) and added the word family with vinyl to the tile.   I also added a little piece of  vinyl to the top and bottom of the word family.

I was thinking this would make a great holder for keys.

Mommy's sippy cup

This is for all you young Mothers out there.  I remember the days when I felt like I needed my own sippy cup filled with something other than juice.

I cut (well really my daughter cut) these letters from her new vinyl machine.  I added the letters to a beer mug candle that was made by sister number 4 for my 50th birthday favors.  It has a tea light candle on the inside.

This time I used the vinyl cutter as a stencil and painted the letters directly on to the bottle.  I was afraid that the paint might scratch off so I went over every letter with clear nail polish.   I glued on a few rhinestones just for some bling and added the jute to the top of the bottle.  Very cheap way to reuse wine bottles.

A closer look at the letters and rhinestones.

I thought this was a very cute idea for Mother's Day.

Please leave me a comment, I love reading them.

First Yard sale of the season Finds

Solid Oak 3-tier stand for $4.00. Its new home is on Hubby's side of the bed.    Glass Bowl was $3.00.  It is now the centerpiece on my dining room table filled with wine corks.

This is one of those long shelfs that sits behind your kitchen sink.  It was $5.00 but I have plans for this baby.  I 'm going to repaint it and take it to the Shop for resale.

This is a small plant stand that cost me $3.00.  It's in perfect shape.  See the round wall hanging thing beside it on the floor, it is going to be the top of the soon to be side table.  I'll post about it later when the project is complete.

Bleached solid wood bar stool was also $3.00.  I have the perfect top for this baby too.  It is going to be a beachy side table.

I'm so happy that the yard sales in Western Pennsylvania have started.  I know where I will be every Friday and Saturday morning.  The bargains are always too good to pass up.

Steelers Serving Tray

I warned you that we are huge Steeler Fans.  Again, I used the same wallpaper border and cut the helmet out again.  I bought this tray at a yardsale for a dollar.  It was blue when I bought it.  I just gave it a couple coats of black paint and decoupaged the helmet to the center of the tray.

Sister #2  saw this and fell in love.  She lives in Cleveland Brown's territory and can't find many Steeler items.  She is now the proud owner of a little black-n-gold.

Steelers glass block

We are huge Pittsburgh Steeler fans in my house.

I repurposed this glass block that I found at a yardsale. I scrapped off the old paint that was on the front of the block and replaced the lights.  I cut the steeler helmet from a wallpaper border that I also purchased a few years ago at a yardsale.  I decoupaged the helmet to the glass block.  I added a piece of Steeler fabric all the way around the block just for a little added touch.

This would make a great night light for any Steeler Fan.

$2.00 table redo

I love, love, love old tables.  I purchased this at a yardsale for $2.00.  It was in great shape and had a removable piece of glass on the top that also was in perfect shape.  I took off the glass and gave the table a coat of black paint.

I added some pictures of my Granddaughter and replaced the glass. Here is the finished product.

sheet music candle

Walmart candle + old sheet music + burlap + black velvet ribbon + 3 antique buttons = A REALLY COOL LOOKING CANDLE.

-I decoupaged the old sheet music to the candle
-added a piece of burlap
-added a thin black velvet ribbon over the burlap
-added 3 antique crystal buttons

I also decoupaged another piece of sheet music to a left over tile that I found at a yard sale.   I just added my signature "O" and this is how it turned out.  I like these two pieces because they are very versatile.  I've had them in my living room, spare bedroom and now they are in the office.

Thanks for stopping by.
