PINTEREST IDEA

Am I the only person in America that didn't see this awesome idea on pinterest?

Everyone has at least one drawer or cabinet that is a mess right?  I'm going to show you my messy kitchen cabinet where I store my garbage bags, plastic grocery bags and cutting boards.

Don't judge me yet!

Come look inside.....

A huge mess.

So now comes the awesome idea from pinterest.  One of my coworkers told me about this idea to keep all those plastic bags under control.  You simply fold them like flags or footballs.  Remember that trick from when you were a little kid (or am I showing my age)?

STEP 1

lay the bag flat and push the air out of it

STEP 2

fold in half

STEP 3

Tuck the handles down

STEP 4

fold in half again

STEP 5

Fold your first triangle and just continue making triangles  until you get to the end

STEP 6

tuck in the tail to the fold

This is what it looks like when you are all done.

I needed a container that was tall and skinny to hold all the bags so I went hunting through my stash.  I found a tupperware cereal container that works perfect.   Does this look familiar?

I just removed the lid and added all my little footballs.  Just in case you are wondering there are 53 in here.  Yes I did take the time to fold them all, hubby came in and again thought that I lost my mind.  Believe me it was worth the time it took to fold them.

Now I am proud to show you the inside of my kitchen cabinet.

I love you pinterest and whoever came up with this original idea.

Now as long as I keep my container filled with bags I know I will never run out and the rest of the bags will just get tossed out.

Update 3/17/13:  This is exactly how this cupboard looks today. I would recommend this idea to anyone.

OMG Geri!!! You must have the patience of Job girl. I love the idea but I want someone else to fold them for me, lol. I have one of those nifty things hanging on the wall in the laundry room that stores my bags but it sure don't hold 53 of them. Have a great weekend.

I don't know who came up with this idea, but that's how my grandma, my mom and myself fold those grocery bags. Now my grandma is almost 90 years old...so I don't know where she got that back in the days

How cool is that. I have never seen it before, not even on Pinterest! I just pinned it so I don't forget about it. Thanks for sharing.
